History
The Dark 'n' Stormy comes from Bermuda and is so popular there that the name is actually trademarked by Goslings Rum. The drink probably originated after World War I when British sailors mixed locally produced dark rum with ginger beer invented by the Royal Navy. The name refers to the drink's appearance, dark rum over lighter ginger beer, like storm clouds on the horizon.
