French Press Guide: Full-Bodied Coffee in 4 Minutes
The French Press (also called press pot) is a classic coffee brewing method. It produces full-bodied coffee with a rich mouthfeel.
What You Need
- French Press
- Coarsely ground coffee (like coarse sea salt)
- Hot water (92-96°C)
- Scale and timer
The Recipe
Step 1: Dosing
60g coffee per liter of water
Step 2: Prepare Water
Boil water and let it cool for 30 seconds
Step 3: Pour
Add coffee to the French Press and pour water over it
Step 4: Wait
Put lid on (don't press!) and wait 4 minutes
Step 5: Press
Slowly and evenly press the plunger down
Step 6: Enjoy
Serve immediately – don't leave coffee in the press!
