History
The Caipirinha is Brazil's national cocktail with roots in the country's sugarcane production. Cachaça, the main ingredient, has been produced in Brazil since the 16th century. Originally, the drink was used as a remedy against the Spanish Flu, with garlic instead of limes! The modern Caipirinha cocktail developed in São Paulo and became an international phenomenon in the 1990s.
Taste Experience
The first sip is like a ticket to Rio: intensely sour, sweet, and with an earthy, slightly grassy character. The ice cools perfectly while the flavors evolve with each sip. It's Brazil in a glass – lively, warm, and full of energy.
Fun Fact
The word "Caipirinha" comes from "caipira," Brazilian slang for country folk. So the name roughly means "little country girl" – an affectionate nickname for this down-to-earth drink.
