History
Hot chocolate has a history spanning over 3,000 years, beginning with the Maya and Aztecs. Originally, "Xocolatl" was a bitter drink spiced with chili, considered an elixir of the gods. It wasn't until the 17th century, when Spaniards brought cacao to Europe, that sugar was added. The creamy hot chocolate we know today developed in the chocolate manufactories of France and Switzerland.
Taste Experience
The first sip envelops the senses like a warm embrace. The chocolate is rich but not overwhelming – you taste the depth of the cacao, a hint of vanilla, the natural sweetness. The creamy texture glides gently over the palate, leaving a long-lasting sense of well-being.
Fun Fact
Aztec Emperor Montezuma reportedly drank 50 cups of Xocolatl daily – though this drink was so precious that only nobles could afford it. Cacao beans were even used as currency!
