The Story

The Long Island Iced Tea is one of the strongest classic cocktails, invented in the 1970s in Long Island, New York. Robert "Rosebud" Butt created it during a competition to develop a cocktail using Triple Sec. The genius: although it contains no tea, the drink looks deceptively authentic and tastes surprisingly mild – despite five different spirits.

The Experience
"The first sip surprises: The drink tastes refreshing, slightly sweet, and tea-like. Only after a while do you notice the power behind it. It's a cocktail that deserves respect – it deceives with its gentleness and surprises with its effect."
