History
The Flat White is a child of the Southern Hemisphere, born in the 1980s – with Australia and New Zealand still disputing its origins to this day. What's certain: it emerged from the desire for a stronger, more coffee-focused milk drink than the latte. The name "Flat White" refers to the characteristic flat, velvety milk layer that covers the espresso, in contrast to the tall foam of a cappuccino.
Taste Experience
The first sip combines intense sweetness with the silky texture of velvety milk. The caramel and chocolate notes of the coffee come through clearly, accompanied by gentle acidity. The Flat White is for everyone who loves coffee yet appreciates a creamy mouthfeel.
Fun Fact
The Flat White became globally popular through the expansion of Starbucks and Australian café chains like Gloria Jean's. Today, it's more popular than the classic latte in many countries!
