History
Irish Coffee was invented in 1943 by Joe Sheridan at Foynes Airport in Ireland. On a cold winter evening, he served frozen American flight passengers a hot coffee with Irish whiskey and cream. When asked if it was Brazilian coffee, he replied: "No, that's Irish Coffee." A legend was born.
Taste Experience
The first sip penetrates the cool cream and meets the hot, whiskey-warmed coffee. The contrasts dance on the tongue: cold and hot, sweet and bitter, creamy and bold. An Irish Coffee is more than a drink – it's a hug on cold days.
Fun Fact
The cream in Irish Coffee is traditionally not stirred – you drink the hot coffee through the cold cream. The secret to a perfectly floating cream layer: it should only be lightly whipped, not stiff.
