History
Matcha is far more than a trendy drink – it's a living piece of Japanese history dating back over 800 years. Zen monks brought the ground green tea from China to Japan in the 12th century, where it became the centerpiece of the famous tea ceremony. The word "Matcha" means "ground tea," and its production remains an elaborate process to this day: the tea plants are shaded before harvest to increase chlorophyll and amino acid content.
Taste Experience
The Matcha Latte is a feast for the senses: the vibrant jade green, the earthy, slightly grassy aroma, the velvety first sip. The L-theanine amino acid in Matcha provides gentle, long-lasting energy without the ups and downs of coffee. It's calm and alertness in one cup.
Fun Fact
With one cup of Matcha, you're drinking the entire tea leaf – that's why Matcha contains up to 137 times more antioxidants than regular green tea! Japanese samurai drank Matcha before battle to focus their minds.
