The Story

Sex on the Beach was invented in 1987 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, during a Spring Break competition. Bartender Ted Pizio was asked to create a cocktail using Peachtree liqueur. The provocative name was part of the marketing strategy and made the drink instantly popular. The cocktail became a symbol of the exuberant American party scene of the late 80s.

The Experience
"The drink is sweet, fruity, and irresistibly summery. Silky sweetness meets a slight tartness. It's a cocktail without rough edges – simply for enjoying without thinking. Like an afternoon at the beach."
